  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Food coloring (red, blue, green, yellow, purple) Various colors for decoration
  • Edible glitter or luster dust For decoration

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay out parchment paper on a flat, heat-resistant surface.

Make the Sugar Mixture

  • In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir well until all ingredients are blended.

Cook the Mixture

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Attach the candy thermometer to the saucepan and monitor the temperature until it reaches 300°F.

Color It Up

  • Once it reaches 300°F, remove the saucepan from heat.
  • Divide the mixture into separate bowls.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl, stirring to achieve desired shades.

Pour and Shape

  • Quickly pour the colored mixtures onto the parchment paper.
  • Use cookie cutters to shape the mixtures while still warm, if desired.

Add Sparkle

  • Before the candy hardens, sprinkle edible glitter on top for an extra festive touch.

Cool and Break Apart

  • Let the mixture cool completely before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

You can add flavored extracts for extra taste. Be cautious when handling the hot syrup.
