Ingredients
  

Art Materials

  • 1 piece White cardstock or thick paper For the canvas
  • various colors Washable paints (red, blue, yellow, green, etc.) Choose vibrant colors for fireworks
  • 1 package Straws (regular or bubble straws) Bubble straws create larger splatters
  • 2 pieces Paper plates or trays For holding paint
  • optional pieces Scissors For cutting straws if necessary
  • 1 piece Apron or old clothes To protect clothing during the painting process
  • optional pieces Table cover For easy cleanup

Preparation

  • Lay down a table cover to protect surfaces.
  • Gather all your materials in one place.

Painting Process

  • Squeeze small dollops of your chosen colors onto paper plates or trays.
  • Select a straw and dip one end into a chosen color of paint, ensuring it is well-coated but not over-saturated.
  • Position the straw over the paper at a slight angle, about an inch above the surface. Blow through the other end of the straw gently to create firework patterns.
  • Change colors mid-way to create multi-colored fireworks and use different straw sizes for varying splatters and designs.
  • Set aside your artwork to dry completely and clean any paint splatters from the table or surrounding area.

Notes

Combine colors on the plate for new shades, experiment with different surfaces like canvas or fabric for varied effects. You can use glitter or textured paper to enhance your artwork. Frame your artwork as gifts.
