Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 5 pieces Straws (preferably wide ones for better airflow) Wide straws are recommended for better airflow.
  • various colors Washable paints Choose a variety of colors for diverse effects.
  • 1 sheet White cardstock or watercolor paper Use thick paper to withstand paint splattering.
  • small amounts containers Small cups or containers For pouring paint.
  • as needed cups Water To thin paint if necessary.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay down newspaper or old cloth to protect surfaces.
  • Gather all materials in one place for easy access.

Set Up the Painting Station

  • Pour a small amount of each paint color into separate cups.
  • If the paint is too thick, mix in a little water to achieve a fluid consistency.

Start Painting

  • Dip the end of a straw into a cup of paint.
  • Hold the straw just above the paper and blow through it gently from the non-painted side.
  • Enjoy watching the paint splatter and swirl on the page!

Create Firework Patterns

  • Experiment with different colors, layering them as you go.
  • Create dots, starbursts, and lines by varying the strength of your breath.

Clean Up

  • Wipe any excess paint from straws with paper towels.
  • Wash your hands and any tools used in the process.

Notes

Use different types of paper for varied textures. Try using different sizes of straws for varying splatter sizes. Add glitter or stickers for extra embellishments. Mix colors in paint cups to create new shades directly on the paper.
