  • 1-4 pieces Straws (regular or bendy)
  • 1-2 plates Paper plates (for paint palette)
  • 1 cup Water (for rinsing straws)
  • 1 sheet Newspaper or plastic sheet (to protect your workspace)

Preparation

  • Lay down newspaper or plastic sheets to protect surfaces.
  • Gather all materials in one spot for easy access.

Set Up Your Paint Palette

  • Squeeze small amounts of each paint color onto paper plates.
  • Arrange them in a way that’s easy to reach with your straws.

Choose Your Paper

  • Select a piece of white or light-colored paper.
  • Place it flat on your workspace.

Straw Painting Action

  • Dip one end of the straw into a color of paint.
  • Key Action: Avoid submerging the entire straw; just the tip should get paint.
  • Position the straw over your paper and blow gently.
  • Sensory Cue: Listen for the whoosh and watch the paint splatter!
  • Repeat with different colors to create vibrant 'fireworks' designs.
