Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Baking soda
  • 1 cup White vinegar Regular white vinegar is best, but apple cider vinegar can also work.
  • variety colors Food coloring Use a variety of colors for more vibrant results.
  • 1 piece Tray or shallow dish This will contain the mess and allow for easy observation.
  • as needed pieces Plastic squeeze bottles or pipettes For applying the colored liquid.
  • as needed cup Water For dilution of food coloring if needed.
  • optional pieces Plastic gloves For easy cleanup.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place a tray or shallow dish on a flat surface.
  • Evenly spread 1 cup of baking soda across the base of the tray.
  • In small bowls or cups, mix a few drops of food coloring with a small amount of water.
  • Use a plastic squeeze bottle or pipette to drop small amounts of the colored liquid onto the baking soda.
  • Experiment by mixing different colors or using more vinegar for larger reactions.

Notes

Try using natural dyes from fruits or vegetables for an eco-friendly approach. Add glitter for extra sparkle, or include essential oils for pleasant scents.
