  • optional Liquid dish soap For added bubbles during the fizzing reaction.
  • 1 Bowl or tray To contain the fizzing mess.
  • 1 Measuring cups To measure ingredients accurately.
  • 1 Tongs or spoons For mixing the baking soda and food coloring.
  • optional Gloves To keep hands clean during the experiment.
  • optional cup Water For additional dilution if required.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Find a clean, flat surface and cover it with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth to catch any spills.
  • Place your bowl or tray on the surface to contain the fizzing reaction.

Mixing

  • In the bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with a few drops of your favorite food coloring.
  • Use your tongs or spoon to mix until well blended.

Fizzing Action

  • In a separate cup, measure 1 cup of vinegar.
  • If using liquid dish soap, add a few drops into the vinegar.
  • Carefully pour the vinegar into the bowl with the baking soda mixture.

Enjoying the Experiment

  • Step back and watch the concoction fizz and bubble. Add more vinegar for extended fizzing fun.
