Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar Regular or apple cider vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors) Use as much as you like
  • Essential oils (optional for scent) e.g., lavender or citrus

  • Silicone mold or ice cube tray
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Baking sheet (optional for drying)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with a splash of food coloring.
  • Add a few drops of essential oil if desired.

Creating the Lava Rock Shape

  • Slowly add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the mixture to create a fizzy reaction.
  • Fill the silicone molds or ice tray with the fizzing mixture, ensuring they are compact and filled to the top.

Setting

  • Allow the molds to dry on a baking sheet for several hours or overnight.
  • Once firm, gently pop the lava rocks out of the molds.

Enjoy the Fun

  • Drop the fizzing lava rocks into a bowl of vinegar or warm water to watch the colorful bubbles and fizz erupt.

Notes

Add glitter for a sparkly effect, use various mold shapes, and multiply ingredient quantities for larger fizzing rocks.
