Fizzing Lava Rocks

Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup Epsom salt For texture and fizzing
- 0.5 cup Baking soda To create the fizzing reaction
- 0.5 cup Citric acid Adds delightful fizz
- 5 drops Food coloring Optional for vibrancy
Wet Ingredients
- 0.25 cup Water To activate the fizz
Tools
- 2 Mixing bowls One for dry ingredients and one for wet
- 1 Silicone ice cube trays For molding the fizzing rocks
Instructions
Preparation
- Combine one cup of Epsom salt with half a cup of baking soda in your mixing bowl.
- Gradually mix in half a cup of citric acid.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the dry mixture and swirl gently.
- Slowly add a quarter cup of water, mixing it in little by little to activate the fizzing.
Molding
- Spoon the mixture into your molds, pressing down lightly to create firm shapes.
- Allow the molds to dry for a few hours or, ideally, overnight.
Completion
- Gently release your fizzing lava rocks from their molds when fully dried.
Notes
Store your fizzing lava rocks in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to maintain their fizzing power. Experiment with different colors, scents, and molds to make it your own.
