Fizzing Magic Chalk Paint

Ingredients
Chalk Paint Ingredients
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vinegar For the fizzing reaction

Tools Required
- 2 pieces mixing bowls
- 1 piece whisk or spoon
- 1 piece muffin tin or ice cube tray
Instructions
Mixing Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of cornstarch. Whisk together until well blended.
- Gradually stir in 1/2 cup of water until smooth. The mixture should be thick but pourable.
- Divide the mixture into separate bowls (as many as you have colors).
- Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix thoroughly. Experiment with color combinations for unique hues.
Creating Fizzing Paint
- Carefully pour 1/4 cup of vinegar into the muffin tin or ice cube tray.
- Add a scoop of your colored mixture to each vinegar well and watch the fizzing action as your sidewalk paint comes to life.
Painting Activity
- Head outside with your fizzing paint and let the creativity flow. Use brushes, sponges, or even fingers to create your sidewalk masterpiece!
Notes
For color swaps, substitute natural colors like beet juice or turmeric for a dye-free option. Add salt or flour for different textures in your paint. Use stencils or molds for specific shapes.
