Fizzing Sidewalk Chalk

- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup corn starch

- Muffin tin or silicone molds

Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of corn starch.
- Slowly add 1/2 cup of water while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
Coloring
- Divide the mixture into separate bowls based on how many colors you want.
- Add your desired food coloring to each bowl, mixing well until the colors are vibrant.
Shaping
- Pour the colored mixtures into a muffin tin or silicone molds, filling them up to the top.
- Tap gently to remove any air bubbles.
Setting
- Allow the mixture to dry for at least 24 hours until hardened.
- Once dry, carefully pop the chalk out of the molds.
Using the Chalk
- When ready to use, spray or pour vinegar on the chalk while drawing on the sidewalk.
- Enjoy watching the fizzing reaction as the vinegar interacts with the baking soda!
Notes
Customize colors, experiment with different molds, and try adding a few drops of essential oils for scented chalk. For easier cleanup, use large paper sheets before rinsing.
