  • 1/2 cup white vinegar Creates the fizzing action when mixed.
  • 1 cup cornstarch Additional thickening agent.
  • 1 cup water To help mix the ingredients.
  • as desired Food coloring (various colors) For customizing paint colors.

Tools Needed

  • 1 Mixing bowls For combining the ingredients.
  • 1 Whisk or spoon For mixing the ingredients.
  • 1 Muffin tin or small containers For storing the mixed paint.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Set up a clean, flat surface for mixing your ingredients. Lay down old newspapers or a plastic tablecloth to catch any spills.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of cornstarch. Use a whisk or spoon to blend thoroughly.
  • In another bowl, combine 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of water. Slowly pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Once combined, separate the mixture into different bowls or a muffin tin. Add several drops of food coloring to each section, mix well, and adjust colors as desired.

Application

  • Using brushes or your hands, apply the fizzing chalk paint onto your chosen surface. Watch it fizz and bubble, creating dynamic patterns and textures.
  • Allow the paint to dry completely before touching or adding more layers. Watch as colors become vibrant and beautiful.

Notes

For a thicker paint, adjust the cornstarch-to-water ratio. You can store any unused paint in airtight containers to prolong its shelf life. It's best to test the paint in a small area first before applying it widely.
