Preparation

  • Find a well-ventilated outdoor area to minimize mess and maximize fun. Lay down a protective covering if desired to catch any spills.

Mixing the Base

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Stir until fully blended, creating a smooth mixture.

Adding Color

  • Divide the mixture into the muffin tin or small cups. Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to each cup and stir gently until the colors are evenly distributed.

Creating the Fizzy Paint

  • In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of vinegar with one of the colored mixtures. Watch as it fizzes and bubbles! Repeat with the other colors.

Painting

  • Dip your paintbrush or sponge brush into the fizzy paint. Apply it to a baking sheet or outdoor concrete and watch the fizzing magic unfold as it dries.

Cleanup

  • Allow your creations to dry fully in the sun. Rinse brushes and cups with warm water to clean up easily.
