  • 1 cup Bioplastic (homemade or store-bought) Feel free to use your own or buy a pre-made version.
  • 2 sheets Wax paper For pressing the flowers and encasing the bioplastic.
  • 1 none An iron Used to fuse the layers of the suncatcher.
  • 1 none A baking sheet To hold your creation while working.
  • 1 none Scissors For trimming the wax paper and edges of the suncatcher.
  • 1 none A hole punch (optional for hanging) For creating a hole if you wish to hang your suncatcher.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gently press the dried blooms between two sheets of wax paper, ensuring they lie flat.

Making the Bioplastic

  • Prepare the bioplastic according to your chosen method, warming it until smooth and pliable.
  • Cut a piece of wax paper suitable for the size of your suncatcher.

Assembly

  • Pour a thin layer of bioplastic onto one piece of wax paper and smooth it evenly.
  • Carefully place your pressed flowers onto the warm bioplastic, arranging them creatively.
  • Cover the flowers with another layer of bioplastic, ensuring they are fully encased.
  • Place the second piece of wax paper on top, press down firmly, and use the iron on a low setting to fuse the layers.
  • Once cooled, carefully peel the suncatcher from the wax paper and trim the edges as desired.
  • If hanging, use a hole punch to create an opening at the top.

Final Display

  • Find a sunny spot to display your suncatcher, allowing it to shine and reflect the colors of the flowers.

Notes

Gently wrap the finished suncatchers in soft tissue paper for storage. Consider replacing flowers with fresh blooms in the future.
