- 5-10 pieces Balloons (latex) Choose sizes based on your desired ball size.
- 1-2 cups Fresh flowers (e.g., pansies, daisies, or any edible blooms) Select a variety of colorful and vibrant flowers.
- 4 cups Water Use purified or clean water for the best results.
- 2-4 pieces Plastic cups or molds (for shaping) These will help stabilize the balloons while freezing.
- Optional Food coloring To add color to your frozen creations.
- 1 piece Twine or ribbon (for hanging) For hanging your finished flower balls.
Instructions
Preparation
- Gather your fresh flowers and trim the stems. Ensure they are clean and free from any dirt or pesticides.
- Inflate balloons to your desired size, leaving enough space for the flowers, and tie them securely.
- Place a few flowers inside each balloon. If you’d like to add food coloring, mix it with water before adding to the balloons.
- Using a funnel, carefully pour water into each balloon until they are about half full, ensuring the flowers are fully submerged.
- Securely tie off the balloons to prevent any leaks.
Freezing
- Place the filled balloons in the plastic cups or molds to stabilize them and put them in the freezer for at least 8 hours or until completely frozen.
- Once frozen, carefully peel away the balloon from the ice. If needed, run warm water over the balloon to ease the process.
Display
- Display your frozen flower balls as desired, on a table, in your garden, or as a hanging decoration.
Notes
Swap different types of flowers for varied visuals, use food colorings to create vibrant effects, and consider that they last only a few hours once displayed. Pair them with LED lights for stunning evening displays.
