Ingredients
  

For the Ornaments

  • 1 cup water Use room temperature water for best results.
  • 2 cups Epsom salt Epsom salt works better for crystal formation.
  • 1 clear plastic or glass ornaments Choose your preferred size.
  • optional food coloring Add for color variation.
  • optional glitter For added sparkle.
  • 1 ribbon or string For hanging the ornaments.

Instructions
 

Preparing the Solution

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of water with 2 cups of Epsom salt.
  • Stir the mixture well until the salt is completely dissolved, creating a saturated solution.

Adding Color & Sparkle

  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution for a pop of color.
  • For an extra sparkle, consider adding glitter to the mixture.

Creating the Ornaments

  • Carefully pour the salt solution into each plastic or glass ornament.
  • Be sure to leave a little space at the top to avoid spills.

Letting It Crystalize

  • Seal each ornament and place them in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • Check periodically to see the formation of ice crystals; they will continue to grow as they chill.

Finishing Touches

  • Once the crystals have formed, remove the ornaments from the fridge.
  • Gently shake or tap to let any excess liquid drip out, and allow them to dry.
  • Add a ribbon or string for hanging, and display your beautiful creations!
