Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat water until it’s just boiling.

  • Stir until the salt is completely dissolved, creating a saturated solution.

Setting Up

  • Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper to catch any drips.
  • Decide on the shape of your ornaments. Use cookie cutters for guidance or create freeform designs.

Creating the Ornaments

  • Pour the saturated solution into the shape you’ve chosen, filling it to the desired height or using similar-sized cups for different shapes.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring or a sprinkle of glitter for a magical touch.

Crystallizing

  • Place the baking sheet and molds in a cool, undisturbed area.
  • Leave for 24-48 hours to watch the crystals form, creating a stunning ice-like effect.

Finishing Touches

  • Once dried, gently peel the ornaments from the molds.
  • Use a string or fishing line to hang your creations.

Notes

Experiment with different types of salt or sugar for varied textures and try adding essential oils for scented ornaments.
