  • 1 part White glue Basic white school glue works well.
  • 2 parts Water Regular tap water.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking soda Thickens the mixture.
  • 1 piece Plastic bowl For mixing the ingredients.
  • 1 piece Whisk or mixing tool To thoroughly combine the materials.
  • 1 sheet Wax paper or silicone baking mat To create snowflake shapes.
  • optional Snowflake templates Can be used to form specific shapes.
  • optional Food coloring For coloring the snowflakes.
  • optional Glitter To add sparkle to the finished snowflakes.

Preparation

  • In a plastic bowl, combine 1 part white glue with 2 parts water. Stir well until fully blended for a smooth consistency.
  • Gradually mix in 1 tablespoon of baking soda. This will thicken the mixture.
  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix well to create colored snowflakes.

Creating Snowflakes

  • Lay wax paper or a silicone baking mat on your work surface.
  • Use a spoon or squeeze bottle to create your snowflake shapes, using templates if needed.
  • Before your snowflakes dry, sprinkle them with glitter for an icy effect.

Drying

  • Allow the snowflakes to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  • Once fully dry, carefully peel them off the wax paper or mat.

Notes

Experiment with colored glue or metallic paint for unique designs. Use cookie cutters or stencils for varying snowflake shapes. Make multi-layered snowflakes for depth and dimension.
