Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, heat 2 cups of water until it’s nearly boiling.
  • Carefully add 1 cup of Borax to the water.

Coloring (Optional)

  • If you want to color your crystals, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and stir well.

Submersion

  • Lower the heart into the jar or container, ensuring it is fully submerged in the Borax solution.

Crystallization

  • Let the heart sit undisturbed for 24 hours to allow the crystals to form.

Reveal

  • After 24 hours, remove the heart from the solution.
  • Rinse it under cold water to eliminate any excess Borax.
  • Allow it to dry completely, and behold your crystal creation!

Notes

Different shapes can be tried to create a collection. Ensure materials used with kids are non-toxic and supervise their activities. Mix different food colors for a tie-dye effect. Consider different display options for your crystal heart.
