Galaxy Glitter Jar
Create a mesmerizing galaxy glitter jar that serves as beautiful decor and a calming sensory tool, perfect for mindfulness exercises or stargazing at home.
Ingredients
For the galaxy glitter jar
- 1 jar A clean glass jar with a lid (mason jar or any clear jar) Ensure the jar is clean and durable.
- 1 cup Warm water
- 1/2 cup Clear glue (school glue works well)
- 1-2 tablespoons Glitter (choose your favorite colors) Experiment with different types of glitter, such as holographic or star-shaped.
- a few drops Liquid food coloring (optional) Use based on your preference.
- as needed Baby oil or vegetable oil Substitute with vegetable oil if preferred.
- 1 A stirring stick or spoon
Instructions
Preparation
- Wash the jar thoroughly to ensure it’s clean and free from residues.
- Dry the jar completely before proceeding.
Mix the Glitter Solution
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water with 1/2 cup of clear glue.
- Stir the mixture until it is well combined. This is your glitter solution.
Add Color and Glitter
- Optional: If you desire a colored effect, add a few drops of liquid food coloring to the glue mixture and stir well.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of glitter to the mixture. Use different colors for a more vibrant effect.
Assemble the Jar
- Carefully pour the glitter solution into the jar, filling it about halfway.
- Gently pour in baby oil or vegetable oil, leaving some space at the top for swirling.
Seal and Shake
- Securely apply the lid to the jar.
- Shake gently to mix the contents, and watch the glitter move and swirl, mimicking a galaxy.
