Ingredients
Materials
- Clear glass or plastic ornaments
- Acrylic paints (black, purple, blue, white, and other galaxy colors)
- Paintbrushes (various sizes)
- Glitter (optional) For added sparkle
- Water
- Paper towels To absorb excess paint
- Palette or mixing surface For mixing paints
- Sealer spray (optional) To protect the finished ornaments
Instructions
Preparation
- Lay down newspaper or a craft mat to protect surfaces from spills and paint.
- Gather all materials in an organized fashion for easy access.
Mixing Paints
- Use the palette to mix vibrant colors, such as deep blues and purples, creating galaxy-like hues.
- Notice the smooth texture of the paint as you mix.
Painting
- Remove the top of the ornament carefully.
- Use a paintbrush to add your mixed colors inside the ornament, swirling and layering them for a nebula effect.
- The paint will glide smoothly over the surface; you can tip and roll the ornament to help the colors blend.
Adding Glitter (Optional)
- If you love sparkle, sprinkle glitter inside the ornament while the paint is still wet.
Drying
- Lay the ornaments upside down on paper towels to allow excess paint to drip out.
- Allow them to dry completely, ideally overnight.
Sealing (Optional)
- To protect your paint job, spray a light layer of sealer over the outside of the ornament once dry.
Notes
Try different colors and shapes for unique variations. Consider adding personal messages or using non-toxic paints.
