- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons gelatin Sprinkle over water to bloom
- 1/2 cup salt Acts as a preservative
- 2 teaspoons essential or fragrance oil Choose your favorite scent
- food coloring (optional) For color customization
- small jars or containers For storing the gel
Instructions
Preparation
- In a saucepan, add 1 cup of water and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin on top. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes until the gelatin blooms.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the mixture until the gelatin has completely dissolved to create a smooth texture.
- Once dissolved, stir in 1/2 cup of salt and add 2 teaspoons of your chosen essential or fragrance oil, mixing thoroughly with a whisk.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your preferred shade.
- Carefully pour the mixture into small jars or containers while it’s still warm and leave some space at the top for ventilation.
- Allow the gel air fresheners to cool completely and set, which may take a few hours. Once set, place them in desired locations around your home.
Notes
Customize scents with different essential oils and consider adding dried flowers for a decorative touch. Store in a cool place to prolong the freshness of the gel air fresheners.
