Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the unflavored gelatin with water.
- Whisk until fully dissolved, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Add food coloring to achieve your desired vibrancy, mixing well.
Add Flowers
- Arrange fresh or dried flowers in the shallow dish.
- Pour the gelatin mixture over the flowers until they are fully submerged.
- Gently press the flowers down to ensure they are encased.
Let It Set
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap to keep dust out.
- Place in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours, or until the gelatin has completely set.
- The mixture should be firm to the touch.
Remove and Dry
- Carefully lift the gelatin suncatcher out of the dish.
- Trim any excess gelatin from the edges using scissors.
- Place on a baking sheet to dry completely (about 1-2 days).
