Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface, ensuring it’s clean and well-lit. Lay down newspaper to catch any spills.
  • In a bowl, mix 1 cup of water with 2-3 tablespoons of gelatine powder. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to bloom.
  • Gently heat the mixture in a saucepan, stirring until the gelatine is completely dissolved. Avoid boiling.
  • Lightly coat your shallow baking dish or molds with cooking spray (optional) to ease removal.
  • Place fresh flowers and leaves on the bottom of the dish. Use your creativity to design a beautiful pattern.
  • Carefully pour the gelatine mixture over the flowers, ensuring they are completely submerged.
  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for about 4-6 hours, or until the gelatine is set.
  • Once set, gently lift the suncatcher out of the dish and hang it in a window or use a hook.

Notes

Tips: Experiment with different types of flowers and leaves, use food coloring for additional color, and try different sized cookie cutters for varied shapes. Gelatine suncatchers can last several weeks at room temperature, but fresh flowers will degrade faster.
