  • 1 cup Epsom salts or sugar crystals Used to create the geode effect.
  • 5 drops Food coloring or liquid watercolors Vibrant colors for your design.
  • 1 piece Paintbrushes For applying glue and paint.
  • 1 bowl Bowl for mixing colors Use for mixing color with Epsom salts.
  • 1 piece Wax paper or silicone mat To place the eggs on while they dry.
  • 1 pair Crafting gloves Optional for keeping hands clean.

Instructions
 

Preparing the Eggs

  • Lay out all your crafting materials on a clean workspace.
  • Use a paintbrush to apply a layer of Mod Podge or white glue onto the plastic egg halves.
  • Allow the glue to dry slightly to become tacky but not completely dry.

Creating the Geode Effect

  • In a bowl, mix Epsom salts or sugar crystals with a few drops of food coloring to create vibrant hues.
  • While the glue is wet, sprinkle your colored mixture over the egg halves, focusing on making a pattern.
  • Add different colors in layers to enhance the geode effect; allow each layer to dry slightly before adding the next.

Finishing Touches

  • Place the completed eggs on wax paper or a silicone mat to dry completely.
  • Once dry, give them a final coat of Mod Podge to seal and add shine.
  • Once sealed and dry, display your beautiful creations in an egg basket or use them to decorate your Easter table.

Notes

Use alternative materials like glitter for a sparkly effect or try different sizes of eggs for varied designs. Storing the eggs in a cool, dry place is recommended.
