Ingredients
  

Materials for Ocean in a Bottle

  • 1 bottle Clear plastic or glass bottle with a tight-sealing lid Make sure it's cleaned and dried.
  • 2/3 full Distilled water Best to avoid cloudiness over time.
  • a few drops Blue food coloring To mimic the look of ocean water.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Fine glitter (blue, silver, or teal) For creating sparkling ocean waves.
  • to top bottle Oil (baby oil, vegetable oil, or mineral oil) Leave a small gap for air.
  • optional Small decorations (seashells, toy fish, etc.) For a personal touch.
  • optional Funnel To help fill the bottle easily.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Bottle

  • Clean the bottle thoroughly and ensure it is fully dried.
  • Using the funnel, fill the bottle about 2/3 full with distilled water.

Create the Ocean Effect

  • Add a few drops of blue food coloring and mix until the desired shade is achieved.
  • Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of fine glitter into the bottle.

Seal the Bottle

  • Gently pour in the oil to fill the bottle almost to the top, leaving a small gap for air.
  • Tighten the lid securely to prevent leakage.

Optional Decorations

  • Drop in small seashells or toy fish for added charm, if desired.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring and glitter for unique effects. Adding a drop or two of essential oil can give a pleasant fragrance to the ocean in a bottle.
