Ingredients

Materials

  • 1 package Clear perler beads or glow-in-the-dark beads
  • 1 tray Oven-safe baking tray
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper
  • optional Cooking spray
  • 1 length Clear string or fishing line For hanging
  • 1 tool Scissors If using string

Instructions

Preparation

  • Find a clean, flat surface to work on and gather all materials.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if using perler beads.

Arrange the Beads

  • Place parchment paper on the baking tray.
  • Arrange glow beads in a design on the tray. Feel free to make shapes like hearts, stars, or free-flowing patterns.
  • Tip: Keep beads close together for better melting.

Bake the Beads

  • Carefully place the tray in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, watching to ensure they do not over-melt.
  • Caution: The beads may emit a slight odor during melting.

Cool Down

  • Remove the tray from the oven and let it cool completely.
  • The beads will harden into a solid shape.

Add String for Hanging

  • Once cooled, flip the suncatcher over.
  • Use scissors to cut your clear string, then attach it for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different bead sizes and shapes. Swap standard beads for specialty shapes, and use various colored beads to match your room’s decor.
