Ingredients
  

Main Materials

  • 1 unit Clear plastic bottle or jar For holding the lamp
  • 1/3 cup Cooking oil Vegetable oil works well
  • 1 cup Water Fill the bottle or jar about one-third full
  • 2-3 drops Food coloring Your choice of color
  • 1-2 tablets Alka-Seltzer tablets For creating the bubbling effect
  • 1 unit Small LED light or glow stick To illuminate your lamp
  • 1 unit Funnel Optional, for pouring
  • 1 tablespoon Glitter or small beads For extra sparkle, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean your plastic bottle or jar thoroughly.
  • Use a funnel to pour in water, filling it about one-third full.

Adding Oil

  • Slowly pour cooking oil into the container until it's nearly full.
  • Watch the oil and water separate.

Coloring It Up

  • Add a few drops of food coloring.
  • Observe how the color drops sink and swirl through the water.

Include Sparkle

  • For extra pizzazz, stir in a small amount of glitter or beads.

Creating the Magic

  • Break one or two Alka-Seltzer tablets into smaller pieces.
  • Drop them into the mixture and watch as bubbles form and colors dance!

Illuminate

  • Place your LED light or glow stick under the container.
  • Turn off the lights to enjoy the luminous display.

Notes

Modify Colors: Use different food coloring for gradient effects. Experiment with liquids like tonic water or add essential oils for fragrance. Personalize your lamp with decorations.
