  • 1 bottle Glow-in-the-dark paint or liquid Ensure it is specifically for glowing effects.
  • 2 pieces Paintbrushes or sponges For applying paint.
  • 5 pieces LED tealight candles Provides safe illumination.
  • 1 bowl Bowls (for mixing paint)
  • 0.5 cup Water To mix with paint.
  • 1 pair Gloves (optional for paint protection) To keep hands clean.
  • 1 pair Scissors For any cutting needs.

Preparation

  • Choose your balloons: Select the size and color of your balloons. Opaque balloons will maximize the glow effect.
  • Mix paint: In a bowl, mix your glow-in-the-dark paint with a small amount of water to create a paintable consistency.

Creating the Lanterns

  • Inflate the balloons to your desired size, then tie them securely.
  • Using a paintbrush or sponge, apply the glow-in-the-dark paint evenly over the outside of the balloon. Make sure to cover all areas.
  • Allow the painted balloons to dry completely in a well-ventilated area, which might take a few hours.

Final Touches

  • Once the balloons are dry, carefully place an LED tealight candle inside each balloon.
  • Dim the lights and turn on your tealight candles to reveal the glowing effect. Hang or place them wherever you’d like.

Notes

Customize colors and shapes as desired; you can use multiple colors for striped designs or add glitter for extra sparkle. Ensure proper ventilation when painting.
