Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Fresh apples (preferably Granny Smith or Fuji) Choose varieties for their crunch.
  • 14 ounces Caramel candies Easy to find in most grocery stores.
  • 1 tablespoon Heavy cream or milk Optional, for a smoother caramel.
  • 1 cup Glow-in-the-dark candy or food-safe glow powder For a magical effect.
  • 1 cup Sprinkles or edible glitter For added color.
  • 6 pieces Skewers or lollipop sticks To stabilize the apples.
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper To set your finished apples.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the apples well in cool water. Dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Making the Caramel

  • Unwrap the caramel candies and place them in a heatproof bowl. Stir in heavy cream or milk for a smoother texture if desired. Gently melt in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.

Dipping the Apples

  • Insert a skewer into the top of each apple. Dip into the warm caramel, rotating slowly to achieve an even coating. Allow excess caramel to drip back into the bowl.

Adding the Glow

  • While the caramel is still warm, sprinkle the glow-in-the-dark candy or powder over the surface.

Garnishing with Sprinkles

  • Before the caramel sets, add colorful sprinkles or edible glitter.

Setting the Apples

  • Place finished apples upright on parchment paper and let cool completely.

Enjoying the Glow

  • Once cooled, turn off the lights and watch as your creations glow softly in the dark.

Notes

These candy apples thrive best when enjoyed fresh. Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place, optionally wrapped in cellophane.
