Preparation

  • Cover your work area with parchment paper to protect surfaces.
  • Gather all materials and tools within easy reach.

Mixing and Heating

  • In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Stir thoroughly with a heatproof spoon until well blended.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Continue to stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear.
  • Once the mixture is ready, remove it from heat.
  • Carefully stir in 1 teaspoon of the glow-in-the-dark powder until it’s well integrated.
  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix until you achieve your preferred color.

Forming and Setting

  • Drop small spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  • Shape them into bead-like forms as they cool for a few minutes (they will harden).
  • Allow the beads to cool completely, which should take about 1-2 hours.
  • Once hardened, your glow-in-the-dark beads are ready to be used!

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring for vibrant variations. Adjust bead size for preference but keep them consistent for uniformity. Increasing glow powder can enhance brightness but be cautious.
