Ingredients
  

Chalk Ingredients

  • 1 cup Calcium carbonate (chalk powder) Essential for the right texture and glow
  • 1 tablespoon Glow-in-the-dark powder (non-toxic) Makes the chalk glow in the dark
  • Water Add gradually to achieve a paste-like consistency
  • Food coloring (optional) For custom colors in your chalk

Tools

  • Mixing bowl
  • Silicone molds (or any mold of your choice) For shaping the chalk
  • Stirring stick To mix ingredients well

Preparation

  • Ensure you have a clean, flat surface to work on. Lay down newspaper or a plastic sheet for easy cleanup.

Mix Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of calcium carbonate with 1 tablespoon of glow-in-the-dark powder.
  • Slowly add water until the mixture reaches a thick, paste-like consistency.
  • For colored chalk, add a few drops of food coloring and stir well until the color is evenly distributed.

Pour Into Molds

  • Carefully pour the mixture into your silicone molds, filling each cavity to the top.
  • Tap the molds gently to release any air bubbles.

Drying Time

  • Allow the filled molds to sit for 24 to 48 hours until fully dry.
  • Once dry, gently remove the chalk from the molds.

Charge for Glow

  • Expose your finished chalk to light for a few hours to energize the glow-in-the-dark properties.

Notes

Customize Colors: Experiment with different food coloring combinations for a more vibrant palette. Shape Options: Use various silicone mold shapes to create fun characters or designs. Store your chalk in a cool, dry place to preserve its glow. Substitute with plaster of Paris if you prefer a different texture.
