Preparation

  • Twist and bend pipe cleaners into snowflake shapes (six arms work well) using various colors for a vibrant design.

Creating the Solution

  • Boil 2 cups of water and add 1 cup of Borax, stirring until fully dissolved.
  • Optional: Add glow-in-the-dark paint or glitter for extra shine.

Mixing

  • Place the pipe cleaner snowflakes in the solution, ensuring they are fully submerged.

Setting

  • Allow the snowflakes to sit for 6-12 hours or overnight to let crystals form.
  • Observe the magic as crystals form around your design!

Drying

  • Carefully remove the snowflakes from the solution and let them dry on a paper towel or a rack.

Finalizing

  • Expose the dried snowflakes to light to charge them before turning off the lights.

Notes

Customize colors using different pipe cleaners or paint, experiment with container sizes for larger or smaller snowflakes, and consider adding beads or other decorations for added flair.
