- 1 bottle Glow-in-the-dark paint
- 1 bottle Acrylic paints (various colors)
- 2 pieces Paintbrushes or foam brushes
- 1 cup Glitter (optional) For adding extra sparkle
- 1 piece Funnel For easy filling of ornaments
- as needed Water To thin paint if necessary
- 2 pieces Paper towels or old newspapers For cleanup
Instructions
Preparation
- Lay down paper towels or old newspapers to protect your surface.
- Gather all materials to ensure you have everything on hand before starting.
Base Layer
- Using a funnel, pour a small amount of glow-in-the-dark paint into each clear ornament.
- Swirl the ornament gently to coat the inside, then pour out any excess.
Add Color
- After the glow paint base is dry, use acrylic paints to create swirling galaxy patterns.
- Experiment with blending colors (like blues, purples, and pinks) to mimic a galaxy.
Add Glitter (Optional)
- If desired, add glitter into the ornament for extra sparkle.
- Swirl the ornament again to distribute glitter evenly.
Allow to Dry
- Place the painted ornaments upside down on a paper towel to let any excess paint drip out and to dry completely.
Display
- Once dry, hang the ornaments on your tree or display them in a decorative bowl.
- Charge them under a light for a few minutes to activate the glow-in-the-dark feature.
Notes
Customize colors with metallic or neon paints, mix and match sizes of ornaments, and try different shapes for variety.
