Ingredients

Craft Materials

  • 1 bottle White glue or clear craft glue
  • 1 sheet Baking paper or parchment paper For drying the snowflakes
  • 5 pieces Craft sticks or Popsicle sticks Can also use cut-up cardboard
  • 1 bottle Glow-in-the-dark paint or powder
  • optional amount Glitter For extra sparkle effect
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting materials
  • 1 unit Paintbrush or sponge For applying glow mixture
  • 1 bowl Bowl For mixing paint and glue
  • optional amount Water If needed to dilute the glue

Instructions

Preparation

  • Find a flat, clean surface to work on. Lay down some newspaper or a plastic cover to protect the area.
  • Use craft sticks to form snowflake shapes. You can create classic designs like six-pointed stars or experiment with free-form shapes.
  • Glue the sticks together, using more glue at the joints to ensure stability.

Application

  • In a bowl, mix glow-in-the-dark paint with a small amount of clear glue (or solely use the paint if it’s thick enough).
  • Use a paintbrush or sponge to cover the snowflake shapes thoroughly with the glow mixture.

Finishing Touches

  • If desired, sprinkle glitter over the wet paint for an extra sparkle effect.
  • Place your finished snowflakes on baking paper, allowing them to dry completely. This may take several hours or overnight for a strong bond.
  • Once dry, expose your glow-in-the-dark snowflakes to direct light for a few minutes to 'charge' them.

Notes

Customize your snowflakes with different colors of glow-in-the-dark paint. Use a fine brush to add intricate designs once the base layer is dry. For traditional decorations, simply omit the glow-in-the-dark paint and use colored glue instead.
