Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water
  • to taste food coloring Add color of your choice
  • to taste glow-in-the-dark powder Available at craft stores

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a cooking pot, mix 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar until well-blended.

Cooking

  • In the same pot, pour in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 2 cups of water. Add several drops of food coloring.
  • Mix the ingredients until you achieve a homogenous mixture.
  • Place the pot over medium heat and stir continuously as the mixture begins to thicken, resembling dough.
  • Once the dough starts pulling away from the sides of the pot, sprinkle in the glow-in-the-dark powder and stir for even distribution.
  • Remove the pot from heat and let the dough cool slightly.
  • Once cool enough to handle, knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  • Place your playdough in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

Customize colors with different food colorings, mix in essential oils for scent, or add glitter for texture.
