Create your own enchanting glowing bubble lamp that transforms any space into a magical environment with simple materials and steps.
Ingredients
Materials
- 1 bottle Clear glass or plastic bottle Ensure it's clean and free of labels.
- 1 cup Vegetable oil Gently pour into the bottle.
- 1/3 cup Water Pour into the bottle until it's about one-third full.
- a few drops Food coloring Your choice of color.
- 1-2 tablets Alka-Seltzer tablets or baking soda Use for creating bubbles.
- 1 unit Small LED light or glow stick For illuminating the lamp.
- 1 unit Funnel To assist with pouring.
- 1 cup Measuring cup For measuring water and oil.
- optional Glitter For added sparkle.
Instructions
Preparation
- Start by ensuring your bottle is clean and free of any labels.
- Use a funnel for easy pouring.
Assembly
- Pour water into the bottle until it’s about one-third full.
- Gently pour vegetable oil into the bottle until it’s almost full, leaving some space at the top.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the water layer.
- Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into quarters.
- Drop one piece into the bottle and observe the exciting bubble action as it reacts.
- If you’re using an LED light or glow stick, place it under the bottle for added illumination.
Notes
Customize colors and experiment with different types of oil for unique effects. Add glitter for sparkle and change bottle shapes or sizes for varied aesthetics.
