  • 1 container Glow-in-the-dark paint or glitter This gives the thundercloud its glow.
  • 2 cups Warm water Used to mix with the glow-in-the-dark materials.
  • 1 spoon Spoon for mixing Necessary for stirring the glow mixture.
  • 1 piece Funnel (optional) Helps in adding materials to the jar without spills.
  • 1 cup Measuring cup Used to measure warm water.
  • 1 piece Small LED light (optional, for enhanced glow) Provides an extra glow effect when placed under the jar.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean your glass jar thoroughly to ensure visibility.
  • Choose a lid if desired to preserve the effect.

Mix the Glow Solution

  • In a separate bowl, mix warm water with a generous amount of glow-in-the-dark paint or glitter.
  • Stir until well combined, creating a glowing liquid.

Layer the Rainbow

  • Using a spoon or funnel, add cotton balls to the jar as the first layer.
  • Drip various colors of liquid food coloring on top of the cotton, allowing it to soak in.
  • Continue layering more cotton and food coloring until you reach the top of the jar.

Pour the Glow Solution

  • Carefully pour the glowing mixture over the colored layers, watching it cascade down.
  • Ensure the cotton absorbs the liquid, enhancing the glow.

Cap and Charge

  • Seal the jar with the lid and place it under a light source for a few minutes to 'charge' the glow.
  • Turn off the lights and watch your creation illuminate!

Notes

Customize colors and add glitter for extra sparkle. Use essential oils for a pleasant scent. Ensure adult supervision for younger children when using hot water and food coloring.
