  • 1 packet Glitter or beads (optional) To add a little sparkle.
  • 1 sheet Cardstock or paper (optional) For creating leaves.

Preparing the Filters

  • Start with a stack of coffee filters, separating them gently as you lay them flat on your workspace.
  • Choose your markers and begin to color the edges of the filters, experimenting with different hues and blending techniques.
  • Once you’ve colored the filters, fill your spray bottle with water and lightly mist the filters.
  • Allow the filters to dry completely.

Assembling the Flowers

  • Stack several filters to create a fuller flower, layering them in varying shades or patterns.
  • Start folding the filters from the bottom up, making small accordion-like pleats.
  • Secure the center with wire or a pipe cleaner, twisting it tightly to hold the flower shape.
  • Gently spread the petals apart, shaping them into blooms.

Finishing Touches

  • If desired, create leaves by cutting simple shapes from cardstock.
