  • 1 sheet Baking sheet
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper To line the baking sheet.

  • 1 optional Hole punch For making holes in the suncatchers.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Remove the wrappers from your crayons and break them into smaller pieces (about 1-inch). Scatter the pieces on the parchment paper.

Melting Process

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and allow the crayons to melt for 10-15 minutes, watching closely to prevent overheating.

Shaping Suncatchers

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and, while the wax is still warm, use a raindrop-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
  • Let the melted wax cool slightly before gently removing the shapes with a knife.

Finishing Touches

  • Use a hole punch to make a hole at the top of each raindrop, if desired.
  • Thread a piece of string or fishing line through the hole for hanging.
  • Hang your suncatchers in windows to enjoy the colors in sunlight.

Notes

Experiment with color combinations, different shapes, and layering for unique suncatchers. Supervise children while using the oven.
