  • White pipe cleaners white pipe cleaners Used to form the snowman shape.
  • 1 piece wire or string To secure the snowman body.
  • 1 bowl small bowl or container Required to shape the snowman.

  • optional food coloring To color the crystals.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Mixture

  • Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a kettle or pot.
  • Gradually add 3 cups of sugar to the hot water, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
  • Stir in 1 cup of baking soda and watch for fizzing.

Shape the Snowman

  • Twist white pipe cleaners into ball shapes to create the body of the snowman (one large, one smaller for the head).
  • Use wire or string to secure the two shapes together.

Coat with Mixture

  • Place your pipe cleaner snowman in the sugar mixture, ensuring it's fully submerged.
  • Allow it to sit undisturbed for a few hours or overnight.

Watch It Grow

  • After a day, observe the crystals starting to form on your snowman.
  • Patience is key; allow up to 48 hours for the best results.

Notes

Color your crystals by adding food coloring to the mixture and sprinkle glitter for an extra sparkle. Feel free to create different shapes for unique snowman features.
