Ingredients
  

For the Crystal Solution

  • 1 cup sugar or salt Depending on the type of crystal you want to grow
  • 1 cup water Boiled water for dissolving the sugar or salt

For Crystal Growth

  • 1 heat-resistant container (like a glass jar) To hold the solution
  • 1 spoon For stirring the solution
  • 1 string or wooden stick For the crystals to form on
  • optional food coloring To add color to the crystals

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by boiling 1 cup of water in a saucepan.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of sugar or salt to the boiling water while stirring constantly until fully dissolved.

Setup for Crystal Growth

  • Pour the hot solution into a heat-resistant container.
  • If you wish to add color, mix in a few drops of food coloring now.
  • Tie one end of the string to a pencil or stick and suspend it in the solution without touching the bottom.

Let the Crystals Grow

  • Cover the container with a cloth or plastic wrap, and place it in a cool, undisturbed location.
  • Over the next few days, watch as crystals begin to form along the string or stick.

Harvest Your Crystals

  • After a week, carefully remove the crystals from the solution and rinse them with water to eliminate any excess solution.
  • Let them dry on a paper towel and enjoy your beautiful crystal creations!

Notes

Experiment with different types of salt, use various food coloring for effects, and try varying temperatures for diverse crystal shapes.
