Ingredients
  

Sugar Mixture

  • 1 cup sugar Granulated sugar works best
  • ½ cup water To dissolve the sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda Mix in after sugar mixture is ready
  • ½ cup vinegar To create the eruption
  • food coloring (various colors) Customize for different colors

Equipment

  • 1 bowl bowl or baking dish For mixing the ingredients
  • 1 tray tray to catch overflow Optional, but recommended

Instructions
 

Prepare the Sugar Mixture

  • In a bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar with ½ cup of water.
  • Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved to create a syrupy consistency.

Add the Baking Soda

  • Carefully mix in 1 tsp of baking soda.
  • Watch for fizzing, which is normal!

Color It Up

  • Add several drops of food coloring of your choice into the mixture.
  • Swirl it around for beautiful color distribution.

Set Up for Eruption

  • Pour your sugar mixture into a dish or bowl placed on a tray.
  • Get ready for the grand finale!

Create the Eruption

  • Pour ½ cup of vinegar into the sugar mixture.
  • Step back and watch as it bubbles up and erupts like a mini volcano!
