Ingredients
  

For the Bouncy Balls

  • 1 tablespoon white school glue Works best for this recipe
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 tablespoon water
  • to taste Food coloring (red, white, blue) Choose colors to match patriotic themes
  • 1 bowl for mixing For combining the ingredients
  • 1 spoon or stir stick For stirring the mixture
  • 1 wax paper or foil For drying the balls

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the white school glue, cornstarch, and baking soda. Stir well until the mixture is smooth.
  • Slowly add the water to your mixture and stir until combined.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to your mixture and mix until uniform.
  • Take small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls using your hands, aiming for about 1-inch diameter balls.
  • Place your bouncy balls on wax paper or foil to dry and allow them to sit for at least 24 hours to harden.

Enjoying

  • Once dry, your bouncy balls are ready to use. Test their bounce and have fun!

Notes

You can customize colors and shapes. Use this activity to engage kids and teach them about chemistry.
