Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • food coloring (your choice)
  • essential oils (optional for scent) Use scents like lavender or lemon.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large pot, mix 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, and 2 tablespoons cream of tartar. Stir until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, combine 2 cups water, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, and food coloring. If desired, add a few drops of essential oil.
  • Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth and free of lumps.

Cooking

  • Place the pot on the stove over medium heat. Stir continuously as the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the sides.
  • Once the dough is formed, remove it from heat and let cool for a few minutes.

Kneading

  • Knead the dough on a clean surface until smooth and elastic.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to last up to 3-4 weeks. Customize with different colors, scents, and textures.
