  • Place over medium heat and stir continuously until dissolved.
  • Use a cooking thermometer to check the temperature. Once it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), remove from heat.

  • Quickly stir in the flavored drink mix and citric acid. Blend until well combined, being cautious of steam rising.

Creating the Pop Rocks

  • Pour the mixture onto the lined baking sheet and allow it to spread evenly.
  • Let the mixture cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Once fully cooled, break the candy into small pieces.

Storage

  • Place the homemade Pop Rocks in an airtight container to preserve their texture.
