Cooking

  • Attach the candy thermometer and allow it to reach 300°F (hard crack stage).

Mixing Flavor

  • Remove the pan from heat once the desired temperature is reached.
  • Quickly stir in baking soda, citric acid, and flavored extract.
  • Be cautious as the mixture may bubble and expand.

Cooling

  • Immediately pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out thinly.
  • Allow it to cool completely for about 30 minutes.

Final Steps

  • Once cooled, break the candy into small pieces.
  • Dust them with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.

Storage

  • Place your homemade Pop Rocks in an airtight container for freshness.

Notes
