Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup sea salt Provides exfoliating benefits.
  • 1 cup coconut oil Skin-friendly oil.
  • 1 cup olive oil Skin-friendly oil.
  • 1 cup distilled water Used to mix with lye.
  • 2 tablespoons lye (sodium hydroxide) Handle with care.
  • 1-2 tablespoons essential oils (e.g., lavender, eucalyptus) Customize scents.

  • 1 set soap molds For forming the soap.
  • 1 pair safety gloves and goggles Essential for safety when working with lye.
  • 1 each mixing bowls For mixing ingredients.
  • 1 each stick blender For blending the mixture.
  • 1 each thermometer To check temperatures.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Ensure your area is clean and free from clutter.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles to protect yourself when handling lye.

Mix the Lye Solution

  • Carefully measure 1 cup of distilled water into a mixing bowl.
  • Slowly add 2 tablespoons of lye to the water while stirring.
  • Allow the solution to cool down to about 100°F.

Melt the Oils

  • In a separate pot, combine 1 cup of coconut oil and 1 cup of olive oil.
  • Heat gently until fully melted and mixed; keep it around 100°F.

Combine Oils and Lye

  • Once both the lye solution and the oils are at a similar temperature, slowly pour the lye solution into the oils.
  • Blend with a stick blender until you reach a light trace.

Add Sea Salt and Essential Oils

  • Gently fold in 1 cup of sea salt and your chosen essential oils.
  • Mix well but avoid over-blending.

Pour into Molds

  • Carefully pour the soap mixture into your molds.
  • Tap gently to remove air bubbles.

Cure the Soap

  • Cover the molds with a towel and let them sit for 24-48 hours until hardened.
  • Once solid, remove from molds and allow to cure in a cool, dry place for at least 4 weeks before using.

Notes

For variations, swap oils, add natural colorants for color, and experiment with essential oil blends for unique fragrances.
