  • 1 cup granulated sugar (white or brown) Brown sugar is gentler on the skin.
  • 1/2 cup oil (coconut, olive, or almond) Choose your preferred oil.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or essential oil (optional for scent) Add for fragrance if desired.

  • 1 piece Spoon or spatula for mixing To ensure thorough mixing.

Preparation

  • In your mixing bowl, add 1 cup of sugar.
  • Pour in 1/2 cup of your chosen oil.
  • Using your spoon or spatula, mix the sugar and oil until well combined. The texture should be gritty but moist.
  • If you’d like, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a few drops of your preferred essential oil.
  • If your scrub seems too dry, add a bit more oil. If it’s too oily, add more sugar until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Transfer your sugar scrub into an airtight container. Make sure to seal it properly.
  • When ready to use, scoop out a small amount, apply to damp skin, and massage in circular motions. Rinse with warm water.

Notes

Customize scents, add exfoliants like coffee grounds, or incorporate natural food coloring for a fun twist. Store in a cool place for up to 3 months.
