This homemade kinetic sand is easy to make, customizable, and provides a mess-free play experience that promotes sensory exploration and creativity.

- 1 cup fine sand Provides the primary texture.
- 1/2 cup cornstarch Helps bind the sand.
- 1/2 cup water Adjust according to desired consistency.
- 1 tablespoon dish soap Helps with texture and stickiness.

Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the fine sand and cornstarch. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
- Pour in the dish soap and mix thoroughly.
- If you’d like colored kinetic sand, add a few drops of food coloring at this stage and mix until evenly colored.
- Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring as you go. The sand mixture should become moldable; adjust water based on your sand's texture.
- Knead and squeeze the mixture with your hands to ensure it has a smooth, pliable texture. Adjust with more water or cornstarch as needed.
Notes
For scented sand, add vanilla extract or essential oils; for varied textures, use different types of sand or small beads. Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
