Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine 5 cups of sand and 2 cups of cornstarch. Stir well until the mixture is uniform and free of clumps.
- In a separate container, mix 1 cup of water with 1/2 cup of dish soap. Add a few drops of food coloring if desired, and stir until fully combined.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly with your hands or a spatula until it reaches a moldable consistency.
- Knead the sand mixture for several minutes until it feels soft and holds its shape when squeezed.
- Transfer the kinetic sand into an airtight container for storage. Ensure it is sealed tightly to keep it fresh for play.
Notes
Experiment with different food colors, adjust cornstarch for desired texture, and add essential oils for a pleasant aroma. Use cookie cutters and molds for added fun during play.
